The overall goal was to create a space that echoed a near future laboratory/warehouse while also designing a space that offered an arena shooter vibe.

Making An Arena Style Map

One important gameplay aspect was that the map be able to be traversed in a circular manner so that the player never has to stop therefore never breaking their flow.

By breaking up space with these two cylinders I can divide the space into three lanes of combat that offer med/long-range encounters while preserving close combat within the cylinders themselves.

  • Med/Long Range against Assault Rifle/Pistol Users


Long

  • Long Range against Assault Rifle/Sniper users
  • Natural bottleneck


Short

  • Close quarters against shotgun rushers and tankier enemies
